{"id":138811,"date":"2016-10-03T12:25:39","date_gmt":"2016-10-03T10:25:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=138811"},"modified":"2016-10-03T12:29:59","modified_gmt":"2016-10-03T10:29:59","slug":"sars-chiefs-lover-suspended-amid-deposits-probe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/138811\/sars-chiefs-lover-suspended-amid-deposits-probe\/","title":{"rendered":"Sars deputy&#8217;s lover suspended amid deposits probe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South African Revenue Service (Sars) said on Monday that it has suspended the common-law wife of Sars chief officer Jonas Makwakwa amid a probe into suspicious deposits made between the two.<\/p>\n<p>Makwakwa, chief officer for business and individual taxes at Sars, was suspended on September 15 amid investigations regarding financial transactions into his personal bank account.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Sars said it has now suspended Makwakwa\u2019s partner &#8211; Kelly-Anne Elksie &#8211; pending the investigation.
