The Financial Mail has published its market research for ranking the best MBAs in South Africa<\/a><\/strong>, using data collected\u00a0by Times Media and Lodestar Marketing Research.<\/p>\n

The research was compiled by assessing responses from employers which hire\u00a0MBA graduates and encourage employees to attain them; surveys of MBA graduates; and questionnaires sent to the business schools themselves.<\/p>\n

The study covered executives from 300 businesses (270 from the private sector), and 1,340 graduates from 18 business schools in South Africa.<\/p>\n

One of the key findings of the research was which business school in the country has the best reputation among employers – with the Gordon Institute of Business Science (University of Pretoria) coming out as the top school.<\/p>\n

This is followed closely by the University of the Witswatersrand’s business programme, and the Univiersity of Stellenbosch Business School in third.<\/p>\n

Among graduates, a similar picture emerges, with Gibs coming out as the top choice, followed by the University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Wits.<\/p>\n

In 2016, there were a total of 7,730 MBA students, the publication said, with more men (4,363) than women (3,367) taking part.<\/p>\n

The Financial Mail’s research also broke down the cost of MBA courses, showing that Stellenbosch’s Business School was the most expensive, followed by the Henley Business School (part of the University of Reading in the UK) and Milpark Business School following closely behind.<\/p>\n
