UK based Manchester United is officially the most popular football club in the world when it comes to sales of official replica jerseys.<\/p>\n

Using data compiled by Dr Peter Rohlmann and his team at the consulting bureau, PR Marketing, Sportingintelligence <\/a>reported that the Old Trafford club sold an average of 1.75 million shirts per year in the five-season period from 2011-12 to 2015-16 inclusive.<\/p>\n

Spanish giants Real Madrid, with an average of 1.65 million shirts per year, and Barcelona, with1.278 million are second and third on the list.<\/p>\n

A Forbes\u2019 <\/a>list of \u2018The World’s Most Valuable Soccer Teams 2016\u2019, put Real Madrid’s overall value at $3.65 billion, followed by Barcelona ($3.56 billion) and Manchester United ($3.32 billion).<\/p>\n

According to Sportingintelligence, the British Premier League\u2019s 20 clubs are expected to sell more than five million replica shirts this season collectively, generating revenues of around \u00a3265 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool between them sell nearly two-thirds of all club shirts sold in the Premier League. <\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, British retailing group, Sports Direct, has published a list of the players in the Barclays Premier League who have sold the most\u00a0 replica jerseys this season.<\/p>\n

Topping the list is the league’s most expensive signing, french international, Paul Pogba,. He is followed by another new Man Unite signing, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.<\/p>\n
