{"id":141103,"date":"2016-10-24T12:14:33","date_gmt":"2016-10-24T10:14:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=141103"},"modified":"2016-10-24T12:14:33","modified_gmt":"2016-10-24T10:14:33","slug":"these-are-the-81-ceos-and-executives-who-are-100-behind-gordhan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/business\/141103\/these-are-the-81-ceos-and-executives-who-are-100-behind-gordhan\/","title":{"rendered":"These are the 81 CEOs and executives who are 100% behind Gordhan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a dramatic move of support for Pravin Gordhan, 81 CEOs pledged support for the finance minister days before he presents his mini budget and a week before he appears in court on fraud charges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe stand as one for the rule of law and against the decision to prosecute the Minister of Finance on charges that are, according to the preponderance of expert legal opinion, without factual or legal foundation and not in the public interest,\u201d the CEOs, who form part of the CEO Initiative, said in a press statement.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative was formed after former Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene was fired in December 2015 and has worked with labour and government to find unity with business going forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe stand against the damage this has caused to our economy and to the people of South Africa, especially the poor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 81 CEOs who signed the pledge were:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Altron: No name provided<\/li>\n<li>Anglo American: Mark Cutifani<\/li>\n<li>AngloGold Ashanti Limited: Srinivasan Venkatakrishnan<\/li>\n<li>Asisa: Leon Campher<\/li>\n<li>Aspasa &amp;
