{"id":142395,"date":"2016-11-06T08:32:40","date_gmt":"2016-11-06T06:32:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=142395"},"modified":"2016-11-06T08:34:03","modified_gmt":"2016-11-06T06:34:03","slug":"new-targets-dragged-into-state-capture-saga","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/142395\/new-targets-dragged-into-state-capture-saga\/","title":{"rendered":"New targets in state capture saga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Special crime fighting unit the Hawks are reportedly investigating Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas, ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe and party treasurer Zweli Mkhize in the wake of a report into state capture released last week by former public protector, Thuli Madonsela.<\/p>\n<p>The Sunday Times reported that the men are being targeted for not reporting claims by Jonas that one of the Gupta brothers offered him R600 million to follow orders relating the the procurement of a lucrative nuclear deal, and the position as finance minister.<\/p>\n<p>Hawks spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi told the Sunday paper that the special unit was waiting for the National Prosecuting Authority to advise on a way forward.<\/p>\n<p>Jonas told Madonsela that he reported the alleged Gupta bribe offer to Mkhize and Mantashe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A bribe is a bribe.
