{"id":143620,"date":"2016-11-18T08:27:44","date_gmt":"2016-11-18T06:27:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=143620"},"modified":"2016-11-18T08:27:44","modified_gmt":"2016-11-18T06:27:44","slug":"watch-taxi-hits-cyclist-in-the-emergency-lane-in-joburg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/143620\/watch-taxi-hits-cyclist-in-the-emergency-lane-in-joburg\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch: Taxi hits cyclist in the emergency lane in Joburg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Footage has emerged showing a taxi knocking down a cyclist riding in the emergency lane on Christiaan de Wet Avenue, in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/randburgsun.co.za\/309616\/watch-cyclist-run-over-by-taxi-on-christiaan-de-wet-graphic-content\/\" target=\"_blank\">Randburg Sun<\/a>, the cyclist, Darrel Fitz-Gerald , on Christiaan de Wet, riding towards Beyers Naud\u00e9 Drive shortly after 17h00 on 15 November when he was struck by the taxi.<\/p>\n<p>Fitz-Gerald told the paper: \u201cIt could have been a lot worse, the taxi was travelling at about 70- to 75km\/h when he hit me.
