{"id":145221,"date":"2016-11-30T20:44:44","date_gmt":"2016-11-30T18:44:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=145221"},"modified":"2016-11-30T20:44:44","modified_gmt":"2016-11-30T18:44:44","slug":"matshela-koko-named-acting-ceo-of-eskom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/145221\/matshela-koko-named-acting-ceo-of-eskom\/","title":{"rendered":"Matshela Koko named acting CEO of Eskom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister of Public Enterprises, Lynne Brown, has approved Eskom board\u2019s recommendation to appoint the current group executive: generation, Matshela Koko, as acting CEO of Eskom with effect from December 1, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment follows the resignation of Brian Molefe earlier this month amid allegations contained in the Public Protector report into alleged state capture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have also asked the board to immediately start the process to appoint a permanent Group CEO and that this process needs their urgent attention,&#8221; said Brown.<\/p>\n<p>Koko joined Eskom in September 1996 as an Engineer-in-Training and has moved steadily up the ranks.
