Dimension Data<\/a>, an ICT services and solutions provider, is to offer cloud services for Microsoft<\/a> encompassing Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 and Microsoft Lync 2010 cloud services hosted in its managed private cloud environment.<\/p>\n

In February, DiData launched its range of cloud services aimed at making it easier for businesses to adopt cloud computing.<\/p>\n

Initially available in South Africa in calendar Q3 2012, the group says it intends to offer the service in an additional ten countries and expand availability based upon client demand.<\/p>\n

Part of its cloud services portfolio, and based on Dimension Data\u2019s Managed Cloud Platform (MCP), enterprises will realise the benefits of Microsoft\u2019s business productivity capabilities while reducing the cost and risk of managing underlying infrastructure and applications, the SA firm said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDimension Data has more than ten years\u2019 experience deploying on-premise Exchange, SharePoint and Lync solutions for clients globally, and has migrated more than one million end users to public cloud business productivity solutions,\u201d said Steve Nola<\/a>, CEO of Dimension Data\u2019s Cloud Business Unit. \u201cOur strong expertise in tailoring Microsoft solutions to our clients\u2019 needs provides the assurance that their operations are in good hands.\u201d<\/p>\n

Its latest offering, based on Microsoft productivity solutions, provides a private, single-tenant cloud environment hosted in Dimension Data\u2019s data centres throughout the world, or on clients\u2019 premises. The managed offering provides enterprises with the level of customisation, flexibility and control needed to address unique business requirements.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy offering our clients managed productivity solutions in a private, locally-hosted cloud environment, Dimension Data is helping remove the barriers that have previously inhibited some organisations from placing key business services in the cloud,\u201d said Bradley Bunch<\/a>, GM of Microsoft Solutions, Dimension Data Middle East and Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy basing this offering on our Managed Cloud Platform, Dimension Data is enabling enterprises around the globe to take a key step in their journey to the cloud with the security, compliance and customisation assurances they require.\u201d<\/p>\n

DiData said its cloud services platform, built on Windows Server and Microsoft System Centre, is fully managed and allows for organisations to maintain the control they need to perform routine tasks through a self-service portal for client administration.<\/p>\n

Long-standing vendor relationships and multi-vendor management capabilities position Dimension Data to support and manage complex systems integration obstacles that arise, the group said.<\/p>\n
