{"id":147487,"date":"2016-12-13T10:27:30","date_gmt":"2016-12-13T08:27:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=147487"},"modified":"2016-12-13T10:36:35","modified_gmt":"2016-12-13T08:36:35","slug":"previous-anc-administration-in-tshwane-had-no-idea-where-4784-city-vehicles-were-da-mayor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/finance\/147487\/previous-anc-administration-in-tshwane-had-no-idea-where-4784-city-vehicles-were-da-mayor\/","title":{"rendered":"Previous ANC administration in Tshwane had no idea where 4,784 city vehicles were: DA mayor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"st\">The previous ANC-led City of Tshwane administration had no track of, or could not account for as many as 4,784 vehicles in its corporate fleet when the Democratic Alliance took over in August.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This is according to Tshwane mayor, Solly Msimanga, who hosted a briefing to provide an update on his first 100 days in office.<\/p>\n<p>The DA\u2019s Msimanga was sworn in as mayor of the metro in mid-August after the party formed coalitions with the likes of the EFF, having garnered 43.10% of the total vote for the metro, versus 41.48% achieved by the ANC.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We inherited what can only be described as a mess,&#8221; said Msimanga on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When we assumed office the city\u2019s corporate fleet was in shambles.\u00a0No consolidated asset register of vehicles belonging to the city, no effective controls over vehicle movements and locations, no checks, balances and controls over procurement nor ensuring that service providers had capacity to do the work.
