Telkom has announced that controversial employee, Motlatsi Nzeku will retire from his position as MD of Telkom international\u00a0and subsidiaries and\u00a0resign his directorships in all Telkom subsidiaries.<\/p>\n
In February 2009 Telkom fired then chief of operations Nzeku, and publicly slated Nzeko for poor performance, becoming \u2018extremely divisive\u2019 and \u2018defamation of Telkom and its leadership\u2019.<\/p>\n
However, following private arbitration proceedings Motlatsi was reinstated as the MD of Telkom International.<\/p>\n
Nzeku joined Telkom in 1994 as a manager in internal audit and he held several positions including managing executive: customer service, GE: procurement services, chief information officer: Telkom SA and chief of operations: Telkom SA.<\/p>\n
During the past 18 years, Nzeku, a seasoned engineer, contributed to Telkom\u2019s network and operational transformation and its development of IT strategy. Nzeku is also accredited for driving the transformation of the South African ICT landscape through the development of many BEE suppliers, the group said in a statement.<\/p>\n
In announcing the retirement, <\/strong>Telkom\u2019s <\/strong>Group CEO, \u00a0Nombulelo Moholi said: \u201cIt is with regret that I lose one of the valuable members of my executive committee whom I have personally known and worked closely with for many years.
