{"id":148275,"date":"2016-12-23T09:11:37","date_gmt":"2016-12-23T07:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=148275"},"modified":"2016-12-23T09:11:37","modified_gmt":"2016-12-23T07:11:37","slug":"hlaudi-used-spies-and-dirty-tricks-to-purge-his-enemies-at-the-sabc-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/media\/148275\/hlaudi-used-spies-and-dirty-tricks-to-purge-his-enemies-at-the-sabc-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Hlaudi used spies and dirty tricks to purge his enemies at the SABC: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While he was COO, Hlaudi Motsoeneng\u00a0secretly used the State Security Agency (SSA) to gain leverage on his enemies at the SABC, the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.timeslive.co.za\/sundaytimes\/stnews\/2016\/12\/23\/Secret-purge-Hlaudis-dirty-war-at-SABC\">Sunday Times reported<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>News\u00a0that the\u00a0agency was brought in to investigate who was leaking documents\u00a0was confirmed in a recent parliamentary inquiry, but according to a senior staff member, the leaks were a smokescreen.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, four people with access to the leaked documents were suspended in April 2015. They were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Itani Tseisi \u2013 former head of risk.<\/li>\n<li>Henk Lamberts \u2013 former television\u00a0finance manager.<\/li>\n<li>Angus Summers \u2013 former finance manager in the office of the CFO.<\/li>\n<li>Andries Van Dyk \u2013 shared financial services manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The\u00a0four were interrogated by two SSA agents,\u00a0the Sunday Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>Lamberts told the newspaper that\u00a0Motsoeneng brought in the SSA to go after Tseisi, who openly disagreed\u00a0with the former COO on the issue of\u00a0encrypting South Africa\u2019s digital TV signal.<\/p>\n<p>Tseisi said the SSA also went to his home in Limpopo and asked people about his assets, such as his car and properties.<\/p>\n<p>Tseisi and Lamberts told the Sunday Times that an investigation like this is unheard of.
