Brand South Africa on Thursday congratulated the Class of 2016, saying improvements in the national senior certificate examinations resonated with South Africa\u2019s improved performance in the 2016 World Economic Forum\u2019s Global Competitiveness Index pillar of education and health.<\/p>\n
BrandSA chief executive Dr Kingsley Makhubela commended teachers, learners and families on the improved performance.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou collectively attest to the South African spirit of resilience and the results which can be achieved when we work together,\u201d Makhubela said.<\/p>\n
<\/b>\u201cThese results resonate with South Africa\u2019s improved performance in the 2016 World Economic Forum\u2019s Global Competitiveness Index pillar of education and health. South Africa improved its performance for the third consecutive year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Adding that a country\u2019s global competitiveness was determined in large part by its level of education, Makhubela said: \u201cWe are pleased that South Africa\u2019s education system is enabling a steady reversal of historical trends. This bodes well for the sustainable progress of our nation brand\u2019s competitiveness.\u201d<\/p>\n
He wished the Class of 2016 well and called on them to play their part in building South Africa\u2019s global competitiveness.<\/p>\n
