Dlamini-Zuma is seen as Zuma&#8217;s preferred candidate to succeed him as leader of the ANC. Dlamini-Zuma has not yet announced an official entry into the presidential race.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/city-press.news24.com\/News\/leaked-report-on-state-looting-absa-is-being-turned-into-a-race-issue-thuli-20170116\">Former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela says that it is possible that the timing of the leaked report ordering Absa to pay back R2.25 billion for apartheid-era looting of the state could be for &#8216;nefarious purposes&#8217;<\/a><\/strong>, but called for cool heads on the matter. She said that Public Protector reports had, in the past, always been leaked early for ulterior motives, but South Africans should not use them to vilify people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ewn.co.za\/2017\/01\/17\/ford-reshall-jimmy-s-death-unrelated-to-overheating-engine\">Ford South Africa has recalled over 4,500 Ford Kugas (1.6l models manufactured between 2012 and 2014), having identified the components that caused over 45 vehicles to burst into flames since 2015<\/a><\/strong>. The recall will be two phases &#8211; the first will replace the components in the coolant system that are failing, and the second will be a safety recall to further improve components and update the warning systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businesslive.co.za\/bd\/companies\/financial-services\/2017-01-17-habib-deal-requires-gordhan-nod\/\">The so-called &#8216;Gupta Bank&#8217; may have passed the Competition Commission, but still faces another big hurdle before it can open up operations &#8211; getting approval from finance minister Pravin Gordhan<\/a><\/strong>.
