He told Bloomberg that South Africa will see an improving growth trend, but Brexit, ANC processes and a Trump presidency all add to the &#8220;cloud of uncertainty&#8221; that threatens to &#8220;upset the apple cart&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.timeslive.co.za\/thetimes\/2017\/01\/19\/ANC-rushes-to-clam-up-Mchunu\">The ANC is moving fast to patch up an apparent split in the KwaZulu Natal branch,\u00a0between former KZNANC chairman and premier Senzo Mchunu and the party&#8217;s current provincial leadership<\/a><\/strong>. Mchunu has made comments pointing to his support of Cyril Ramaphosa as the next president &#8211; counter to the KZN leaders&#8217; alleged support of Dlamini-Zuma. A split in the KZN caucus could significantly change the coming elective conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.za\/2017\/01\/18\/the-public-protectors-lead-investigator-into-absas-apartheid\/?utm_hp_ref=za-homepage\">The chief investigator in the Public Protector report into the Absa apartheid state looting report has resigned.<\/a><\/strong> Advocate Tshiwalule Livhuwani left the Public Protector in December and now works for the City of Johannesburg. The report which he led is coming under heavy fire by those implicated and witnesses whose testimonies were used. His resignation currently has no links to the report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/city-press.news24.com\/News\/mayor-rejects-r15m-car-in-the-interest-of-the-community-20170118\">eMalahleni Local Municipality councillor Lindiwe Ntshalintshali has announced that she will not procure a new R1.5 million car &#8211; &#8220;in the interests of the community&#8221;<\/a><\/strong>. The councillor made waves last year when it was announced that taxpayers would be buying her a fancy new car, despite the fact the municipality owes millions to Eskom. The DA in the region tried to lay charges of corruption against her at the time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>South Africa&#8217;s rand weakened on Wednesday, sliding as much as 1 percent at one stage as a firmer dollar and lower commodity prices hurt the currency.
