{"id":15434,"date":"2012-06-14T16:55:08","date_gmt":"2012-06-14T14:55:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=15434"},"modified":"2012-06-15T12:18:23","modified_gmt":"2012-06-15T10:18:23","slug":"maseko-steps-down-form-vodacom-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/15434\/maseko-steps-down-form-vodacom-board\/","title":{"rendered":"Vodacom and MD Maseko part ways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Vodacom\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1639-Vodacom\">Vodacom<\/a> has announced that\u00a0<a title=\"Sipho Maseko\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2088-Sipho-Maseko\">Sipho Maseko<\/a>, currently managing director of Vodacom SA and chief operating officer of the Vodacom Group, has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests.<\/p>\n<p>Maseko, who joined Vodacom last September, will also be stepping down from all his directorships of the group&#8217;s companies with immediate effect.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom Group chairman, <a title=\"Peter Moyo\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/3446-Peter-Moyo\">Peter Moyo<\/a>, said: &#8220;Sipho has made a positive contribution to Vodacom during his time with the group, providing valuable external perspective to our strategy discussions. On behalf of the entire group, I wish Sipho the best of luck for the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Maseko said: &#8220;I wish to thank the Board, shareholders and all my colleagues at Vodacom for a wonderful opportunity in the last few months. My stay here has been stimulating and I&#8217;ve learned a lot.
