{"id":154521,"date":"2017-02-02T07:56:24","date_gmt":"2017-02-02T05:56:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=154521"},"modified":"2017-02-02T07:56:46","modified_gmt":"2017-02-02T05:56:46","slug":"zuma-targets-gordhan-says-treasury-is-blocking-transformation-goals-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/154521\/zuma-targets-gordhan-says-treasury-is-blocking-transformation-goals-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Zuma targets Gordhan &#8211; says Treasury is blocking transformation goals: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Jacob Zuma has hit out at the national treasury for frustrating the ANC\u2019s economic transformation agenda and failing\u00a0to provide enough funds so that ministers can complete scheduled projects.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesslive.co.za\/bd\/politics\/2017-02-02-zuma-treasury-standing-in-way-of-transformation\/\" target=\"_blank\">report<\/a> <\/strong>in the 2 February edition of BusinessDay, Zuma had made the remarks at the party&#8217;s three-day lekgotla this past week, following the blocking of key, Zuma-backed projects by finance minister Pravin Gordhan.<\/p>\n<p>The report indicated that the remarks were the first in a series of opening salvos that would see Zuma make a number of changes to the Treasury.
