{"id":157709,"date":"2017-02-15T12:27:27","date_gmt":"2017-02-15T10:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=157709"},"modified":"2017-02-15T12:30:56","modified_gmt":"2017-02-15T10:30:56","slug":"south-african-internet-tv-service-showmax-launches-in-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/media\/157709\/south-african-internet-tv-service-showmax-launches-in-europe\/","title":{"rendered":"South African internet TV service ShowMax launches in Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ShowMax, an online subscription video on demand (SVOD) service has expanded its service to Europe, with the company launching in Poland.<\/p>\n<p>The Naspers owned company launched in South Africa in August 2015.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new service is closely tailored to local needs, with a strong focus on Polish content \u2013 including original productions commissioned by ShowMax,\u201d said ShowMax.<\/p>\n<p>Polish TV shows and movies will feature strongly on the service.<\/p>\n<p>The service will be branded ShowMax and utilise the current ShowMax platform and Polish language apps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the launch, ShowMax has acquired exclusive rights to a range of popular local shows, including political satire Ucho Prezesa (Ear of the Chairman).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a big deal for us, especially coming just 18 months after we launched ShowMax.
