Telkom chief commercial\u00a0officer Brian Armstrong has announced that he will be retiring from the company.<\/p>\n
Armstrong will be leaving the company at the end of the company’s current financial year, and will move on to other roles in the industry, such as consulting or sitting on boards.<\/p>\n
Armstrong joined Telkom in 2010, when the company was facing difficulties in the telco sector.<\/p>\n
He worked in various departments of the group, heading up Telkom Business and then Telkom Retail, including Consumer, Cybernest and Mobile.<\/p>\n
More recently he headed up the group strategy, growth and regulatory initiatives. He also led the successful acquisition of BCX and most recently has been instrumental in the creation of Telkom’s\u00a0new digital business space.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am looking forward to launching the next phase of my career, in research, consulting and perhaps a few Board roles. I am passionate about the potential within many digital startups and look forward to getting more involved in this arena,\u201d Armstrong\u00a0said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope to be able to give back to the industry some of the learnings I have been privileged to gather over the last 30 years, here on the inside of the digital revolution. I leave Telkom as a friend and hope our paths will continue to meet in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
