{"id":16216,"date":"2012-06-22T12:11:34","date_gmt":"2012-06-22T10:11:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=16216"},"modified":"2012-06-22T13:51:27","modified_gmt":"2012-06-22T11:51:27","slug":"cell-c-unveils-new-blackberry-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/telecommunications\/16216\/cell-c-unveils-new-blackberry-plans\/","title":{"rendered":"Cell C unveils new BlackBerry plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Cell C\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1641-Cell-C\">Cell C<\/a> announced two new <a title=\"BlackBerry\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/1752-BlackBerry\">BlackBerry<\/a> service plans today (22 June 2012): BlackBerry Social, and BlackBerry Social and Email.<\/p>\n<p>These plans are designed to suit the different requirements of customers, Cell C said, whether it\u2019s for instant messaging, social networking, browsing, e-mail, apps, or all of the above.<\/p>\n<p>The BlackBerry Social Plan, available for R27\/month, offers access to Facebook, Twitter and other social networks, including <a title=\"BlackBerry Messenger (BBM)\" href=\"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/2732-BBM-BlackBerry-Messenger\">BlackBerry Messenger (BBM)<\/a>. It also includes one BlackBerry Email account (username@cellc.blackberry.com), Internet access, and downloads from BlackBerry App World.<\/p>\n<p>For R37\/month subscribers can get the BlackBerry Social and Email Plan, which includes Internet access, e-mail, and social connectivity. In addition to the features of the BlackBerry Social Plan, it also includes access to one third party e-mail account (e.g. Yahoo, Hotmail or Gmail).<\/p>\n<p>Cell C said that subscribers can also still make use of the existing BlackBerry Internet Service plan at R57\/month which allows up to 10 supported corporate and personal e-mail accounts in addition to all of the above features.<\/p>\n<p>The new BlackBerry service plans from Cell C are available to customers today, said <a title=\"Karin Fourie\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/254976-Karin-Fourie\">Karin Fourie<\/a>, Cell C\u2019s executive head of communications.<\/p>\n<p>Customers can opt into either service plan via USSD code *147# or via a customer service agent.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-paid and Top Up customers can activate the new BlackBerry service plans on a once off\/non-recurring service or a monthly recurring service, which will be valid for 30 days. Post-paid customers can only subscribe as a monthly recurring service.
