{"id":164019,"date":"2017-03-13T12:42:39","date_gmt":"2017-03-13T10:42:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=164019"},"modified":"2017-03-13T12:42:39","modified_gmt":"2017-03-13T10:42:39","slug":"fnb-ditches-safety-deposit-boxes-after-heists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/banking\/164019\/fnb-ditches-safety-deposit-boxes-after-heists\/","title":{"rendered":"FNB ditches safety deposit boxes after heists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FNB has decided\u00a0to discontinue the &#8216;provision of safe custody storage&#8217; following a spate of high-profile robberies in December 2016.<\/p>\n<p>According to its <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.online.fnbnamibia.com.na\/downloads\/pricing-guide\/products\/FNB_PricingGuide_SafeCustody.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a><\/strong>, safe custody was a service where articles were lodged in sealed envelopes, deed boxes or safe deposit lockers for safe\u2011keeping in the branch.
