{"id":166315,"date":"2017-03-27T11:45:10","date_gmt":"2017-03-27T09:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=166315"},"modified":"2017-03-27T11:45:10","modified_gmt":"2017-03-27T09:45:10","slug":"rand-tanks-on-zuma-cancelling-gordhans-investment-roadshow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/finance\/166315\/rand-tanks-on-zuma-cancelling-gordhans-investment-roadshow\/","title":{"rendered":"Rand tanks on Zuma cancelling Gordhan&#8217;s investment roadshow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South African rand crumbled in mid-morning trade on Monday, following reports that president Jacob Zuma had cancelled an international investor roadshow, and ordered finance minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy, Mcebisi Jonas, back to the country &#8220;urgently&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The rand opened trade at around R12.34 on Monday (27 March), but weakened significantly to R12.64 by 11h00, undoing much of the gain made in the past week.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;urgent&#8217;
