{"id":166387,"date":"2017-03-28T08:08:28","date_gmt":"2017-03-28T06:08:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=166387"},"modified":"2017-03-28T08:08:28","modified_gmt":"2017-03-28T06:08:28","slug":"xdsl-extends-its-network-into-new-telco-sas-midrand-data-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/industry-news\/166387\/xdsl-extends-its-network-into-new-telco-sas-midrand-data-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"XDSL extends its network into New Telco SA\u2019s Midrand Data Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Telco SA\u2019s carrier neutral Midrand data centre has been selected by Internet service and premier fibre provider, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/tracker.mybroadband.co.za\/\/track.php?page=aHR0cDovL3d3dy54ZHNsLmNvLnphLw?source=Article%208%20of%2012\" target=\"_blank\">XDSL<\/a><\/strong>, as a Point of Presence on their rapidly expanding network.<\/p>\n<p>The data centre provides XDSL with the ideal platform to further extend their reach into the rapidly booming Midrand area, while enabling them to interconnect with multiple network operators and other service providers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMidrand is a fast-growing economic hub, with an increasing demand for fibre, data and Internet services,\u201d says Eckart Zollner, Head of Business Development at New Telco SA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough our Midrand data centre, XDSL will be able to effectively and efficiently reach a multitude of capacity hungry customers, offering Layer 2 services and \u2013 as our datacentre is carrier neutral \u2013 a portal to a variety of Layer 3 and other services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Andre Bam, Chief Technical Officer at XDSL, says, \u201cThe location of this data centre is critical for us, as it enables us to cost effectively reach deeper into the Midrand market, without needing to lay kilometres of fibre.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This means we can keep our costs and our prices down while extending our network.
