Naamsa (National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa) has released its updated list of bestselling cars in South Africa for the month of March 2017.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly the Polo Vivo (2,383 units) and the Toyota Hilux (3,774 units) continued to dominate the sales charts as overall vehicle sales improved\u00a0 2.1% year on year.<\/p>\n

Other mainstays including the Ford Ranger,\u00a0Nissan NP200, Toyota Corolla and the Ford Fiesta all showed strong months, proving once again that South African motorists have firm favourites.<\/p>\n

Slightly more surprising\u00a0is the continued dominance of the Ford Mustang in the sports and supercar category.<\/p>\n

The sector is typically defined by large swings due to the small number of units sold but the Mustang\u00a0has consistently dominated the bestsellers list, selling 77 units in March – more than three times its next competitor the Porsche Boxster.<\/p>\n

The Mustang consistently topping the bestsellers list since its local release in December 2015.<\/p>\n
