{"id":170527,"date":"2017-04-13T17:52:10","date_gmt":"2017-04-13T15:52:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=170527"},"modified":"2017-04-13T17:52:10","modified_gmt":"2017-04-13T15:52:10","slug":"mtn-employee-accused-of-fraud-and-theft-totaling-r24-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/170527\/mtn-employee-accused-of-fraud-and-theft-totaling-r24-million\/","title":{"rendered":"MTN employee accused of fraud and theft totaling R24 million"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, known as The Hawks, has\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/206992-mtn-employee-arrested-for-fraud.html\">arrested an\u00a0MTN accountant<\/a><\/strong> on allegations of embezzlement.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iol.co.za\/news\/crime-courts\/mtn-accountant-in-dock-for-r24m-fraud-8649790\" target=\"_blank\">According to IOL<\/a><\/strong>, the accountant appeared in the\u00a0Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday and will remain in custody until her bail application on 19 April.<\/p>\n<p>She is accused of transferring R24 million\u00a0from MTN\u2019s bank account to\u00a0her account between 16 July 2015 and 4 April 2017.
