MTN introduced three new BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) plans in a press statement issued today (5 July 2012).<\/p>\n
These new plans are available immediately, and MTN’s announcement confirms information received by MyBroadband earlier this week.<\/p>\n
The three new plans are priced as follows:<\/p>\n
MTN\u2019s existing BlackBerry Internet Service plan will still be available at R59 per month, the network said. \u201cBlackBerry Internet Service gives customers unlimited access to BlackBerry data services from their BlackBerry smartphones,\u201d MTN said.<\/p>\n
This contradicts the information in the earlier communication that said BIS would have a 100MB monthly cap.<\/p>\n
MTN\u2019s cheaper plans will be capped, however. The BlackBerry Messaging and Social plans will have a 10MB cap, while the Social and Email plan will have a 25MB cap, MTN said.<\/p>\n
A R1\/MB out-of-bundle charge is applicable on these plans.<\/p>\n
