The group&#8217;s Quality of Life Index found that whites come out on top across all categories it assessed to determine QoL &#8211; from education, basic services, healthcare, employment and household spending.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/politics\/articles\/2017-05-09\/ramaphosa-s-bid-to-lead-south-africa-buoyed-by-zuma-missteps\">President Jacob Zuma is a confident man, but his constant missteps as a leader are helping deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa in his bid to be the next leader of the ANC, while hindering the candidate he prefers.<\/a><\/strong> According to academics and political analysts, people are fed up with president Zuma, the air of corruption that follows him, and fear that Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma will simply be his proxy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesslive.co.za\/bd\/markets\/2017-05-10-moodys-downgrade-fears-hit-rand-bonds\/\">Speculation that global ratings agency Moody&#8217;s could be revealing its decision on South Africa&#8217;s rating sooner than expected has had a negative impact on the country&#8217;s markets. <\/a><\/strong>Moody&#8217;s is the third and final major ratings agency to make a decision on South Africa&#8217;s rating since the firing of former finance minister Pravin Gordhan. It was initially thought it would make a decision after vising the country and assessing the implications, but analyst Peter Attard Montalto believes the group could make its decision in the coming weeks, with no visit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fin24.com\/Economy\/time-for-new-era-of-leadership-at-treasury-says-retiring-donaldson-20170510\">News of National Treasury deputy director general Andrew Donaldson&#8217;s retirement this week has sparked fears of an exodus of Treasury\u2019s key leadership<\/a><\/strong>, following the recall of former finance minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy, Mcebisi Jonas, followed by the resignation of director general Lungisa Fuzile in April.
