{"id":176437,"date":"2017-05-24T12:45:48","date_gmt":"2017-05-24T10:45:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=176437"},"modified":"2017-05-24T12:46:05","modified_gmt":"2017-05-24T10:46:05","slug":"top-cape-town-hotel-closes-swimming-pool-amid-water-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wealth\/176437\/top-cape-town-hotel-closes-swimming-pool-amid-water-crisis\/","title":{"rendered":"Top Cape Town hotel closes swimming pool amid water crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront has closed its swimming pool due to the proposed level 4 water restrictions from the City of Cape Town.<\/p>\n<p>These <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capetown.gov.za\/media-and-news\/Drought%20crisis%20Level%204%20water%20restrictions%20recommended\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">level 4 water restrictions <\/a>could come into effect on 01 June, 2017 if proposals are approved.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed Level 4 water restrictions state that \u201cNo topping of swimming pools at all, either manually or automatically\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In the past few days the City of Cape Town issued a critical warning with regards to water usage, as usable dam water levels have reached 10.5%.<\/p>\n<p>Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, GM Debra Sivertsen said: &#8220;The severity of the situation has led us to take this step.
