{"id":176639,"date":"2017-05-25T18:52:35","date_gmt":"2017-05-25T16:52:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=176639"},"modified":"2017-05-25T18:52:32","modified_gmt":"2017-05-25T16:52:32","slug":"best-and-worst-banks-in-south-africa-for-digital-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/banking\/176639\/best-and-worst-banks-in-south-africa-for-digital-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Best and worst banks in South Africa for digital experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Columinate has revealed the results of its sixth annual Internet Banking SITEisfaction survey, showing Capitec to be the new king in the digital banking category, ousting FNB.<\/p>\n<p>Capitec also picked up top honours in the Mobile Banking category, but FNB beat the newcomer in the Internet Banking category by a fraction of a percentage point.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.columinate.com\/2017\/05\/25\/digital-banking-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Columinate\u2019s SITEisfaction survey<\/a> is a measure of customer satisfaction with digital banking services in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The report is considered by the industry as an essential feedback tool, as it reveals the behaviours and experiences of the banks\u2019 online customers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Digital Bank<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Columinate evaluated the consumer satisfaction of the banks\u2019 online and mobile banking offering as a whole in this category. While FNB was crowned the winner of the new category in 2016, Capitec secured the top spot in 2017, scoring 81 out of a possible 100.<\/p>\n<p>FNB scored marginally lower than Capitec in the Digital Banking category, and came in a close second (79\/100); ahead of Nedbank and Standard Bank, which were tied for third place with 61 points.<\/p>\n<p>Absa, which enjoyed significant improvements over the course of the last year, still trailed the field with 55 points.<\/p>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Banks-e1495728288789.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-176641\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Banks-e1495728288789.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"448\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Mobile Bank<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This category takes a holistic look at all the mobile banking solutions banks offer, from mobile applications to mobi-sites for both mobile phones and tablets.<\/p>\n<p>Capitec scored 83 points out of a possible 100, up from last year\u2019s score of 72. FNB secured silver with a respectable score of 80\/100.
