Hlaudi Motsoeneng has been dismissed by the SABC after he being found guilty in an internal disciplinary hearing.<\/p>\n
He was found guilty of bringing the SABC into disrepute and causing irreparable damage to his employer. The board agreed and this has been communicated to Motsoeneng.<\/p>\n
The charges related to his four-hour long press briefing on April 19, where he defended his \u201c90% local\u201d policy.<\/p>\n
He also criticised the parliamentary ad-hoc committee charged with looking at the former board and interim board member Krish Naidoo.<\/p>\n
Motsoeneng was stripped of his title of chief operations officer at the SABC after a court set aside his appointment.<\/p>\n
In December 2016, the Western Cape High Court also ruled in favour of the DA, finding the appointment of Motsoeneng as the SABC\u2019s group executive of corporate affairs unlawful and irrational.<\/p>\n
The court stated that Motsoeneng may not hold any position at the SABC until he has faced a satisfactory disciplinary hearing and\/or findings and remedial action by the Public Protector have been reviewed and set aside by another court.<\/p>\n
