{"id":178779,"date":"2017-06-13T07:43:08","date_gmt":"2017-06-13T05:43:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=178779"},"modified":"2017-06-13T07:43:08","modified_gmt":"2017-06-13T05:43:08","slug":"government-will-officially-move-ahead-with-encrypted-set-top-boxes-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/178779\/government-will-officially-move-ahead-with-encrypted-set-top-boxes-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Government will officially move ahead with encrypted set-top boxes: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Communications Minister Ayanda Dlodlo has confirmed that government will officially move ahead with its plans for encrypted set-top boxes after a long protracted battle in bringing the boxes to market.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesslive.co.za\/bd\/national\/2017-06-13-dlodlo-nod-to-encrypted-set-top-boxes-opens-digital-migration-door\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BusinessDay<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0Dlodlo\u2019s spokeswoman, Phumla Williams, said on Monday that the department would implement ANC policies, which supported encryption.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The minister has made it clear she will implement ANC policies.
