MasterCard Worldwide has appointed Philip Panaino as the new division president for South Africa.<\/p>\n
Panaino will be based in Johannesburg and will be responsible for the overall performance of MasterCard in South Africa and provide strategic direction for the business’ operations in the country.<\/p>\n
Dries Zietsman will continue his role as country manager for MasterCard Worldwide.<\/p>\n
Panaino\u2019s appointment follows the recently announced restructuring of the Middle East and Africa (MEA) business to comprise three divisions including Middle East & North Africa (MENA), Sub Sahara Africa and South Africa.<\/p>\n
He spent the first 11 years of his career with Citigroup, where he was vice president for the Sub-Saharan Africa Business, and manager of Global Transaction Services across 11 African countries. He holds a Bachelor degree in Commerce, Banking and Financial Management from Milpark Business School.<\/p>\n
