A recent house price index by FNB found that Capetonians can expect to pay <\/a>more than R400,000 more for a home than those living in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n

As Capetonians also traditionally <\/a>earn less than those living and working Gauteng, its become increasingly clear that certain suburbs are responsible for the high average price increases.<\/p>\n

By looking at the house price data at a city and suburb level, we are able to better determine which areas have the highest average house price.<\/p>\n

The data was taken from property listings on Property24. The final amounts are based on a calculation of the total listing price of all listings in a given area, divided by the number of listings.<\/p>\n

The data only features residential properties unless otherwise indicated, and is not meant to reflect all the suburbs in a highlighted area or city, but is to be used as a comparative tool.<\/p>\n
