{"id":185679,"date":"2017-07-17T11:34:14","date_gmt":"2017-07-17T09:34:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=185679"},"modified":"2017-07-17T11:53:59","modified_gmt":"2017-07-17T09:53:59","slug":"watch-the-western-capes-hard-hitting-video-to-stop-texting-and-driving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/motoring\/185679\/watch-the-western-capes-hard-hitting-video-to-stop-texting-and-driving\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch: the Western Cape&#8217;s hard-hitting video to stop texting and driving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Western Cape government has launched a fresh road safety campaign aimed at reducing the number of people killed on the province&#8217;s roads.<\/p>\n<p>The latest campaign is focused squarely on drivers using their mobile phones while driving, on top of the well travelled message against drinking and driving.<\/p>\n<p>Under the tag &#8220;It Can Wait&#8221;, the campaign message encourages phone users to put away their phones when they&#8217;re behind the wheel, saying that no text message or phone call is worth your life.<\/p>\n<p>The video shows a number of CCTV videos capturing people clumsily tripping and walking into things while on their phones.
