Fibre optic company, Link Africa, says it will sell certain FTTH assets to fibre-to-the-home group, Vumatel for an undisclosed sum.<\/p>\n
\u201cLink Africa has decided to better service all our customers by maintaining an interest and focus on the FTTB customers,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
The company said it has seen an unprecedented and substantial demand for fibre-to-the-business recently, resulting in its resources being stretched between FTTB and FTTH demands.<\/p>\n
“Link Africa has decided to better service all our customers by maintaining an interest and focus on the FTTB customers by continuing to pass and connect these customers, while also offering new Ethernet services to ISPs.<\/p>\n
“Because of this refocusing and the creation of the new arm of Link Africa\u2019s business \u2013 focusing on the provision of wholesale Ethernet services \u2013 Link Africa is selling some of its FTTH assets to Vumatel,” it said.<\/p>\n
The affected areas include Dainfern Golf Estate, Fourways Gardens, Kloof, and Umhlanga (Upper). The company said it has maintained assets in Constantia and Stellenbosch among other areas listed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Link Africa said it will continue to build FTTH assets in communities near its extensive core network.<\/p>\n
