{"id":186121,"date":"2017-07-18T18:00:31","date_gmt":"2017-07-18T16:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=186121"},"modified":"2017-07-18T17:25:46","modified_gmt":"2017-07-18T15:25:46","slug":"a-look-at-exxaros-plush-r600-million-headquarters-in-pretoria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wealth\/186121\/a-look-at-exxaros-plush-r600-million-headquarters-in-pretoria\/","title":{"rendered":"A look at Exxaro\u2019s plush R600 million headquarters in Pretoria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Property group Growthpoint says it has broken ground on R600 million development in Centurion which will serve as mining group, Exxaro\u2019s, new corporate headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>The development is the second phase of Growthpoint\u2019s redevelopment of the prime Lakeside office site on West Street, Centurion, directly opposite the Centurion Gautrain Station.<\/p>\n<p>Exxaro\u2019s new headquarters will consolidate its current offices in Pretoria and Johannesburg into a single workspace. The resources group will occupy all of the new building\u2019s 18,500sqm of gross lettable area on a long lease.<\/p>\n<p>The development broke ground in February 2017 and construction will commence from September this year.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected that construction will be complete for occupation in early 2019 when it will be able to accommodate up to 1,400 Exxaro staff members.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by AMA Architects, the office building flows with a series of layered fluid curvaceous forms, in flushed glaze detail. Its triple-volume entrance and reception open onto an atrium that soars upwards through at the core of five floors of workspace.<\/p>\n<p>The building is designed for a 4 Star Green Star SA certification from the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA).<\/p>\n<p>Green measures include zoned lighting, energy-efficient building services and systems, water-efficient fixtures, rainwater harvesting for use in toilets and landscape irrigation, water-wise landscaping, and low VOC interior finishes to ensure high level of indoor air quality.<\/p>\n<p><a
