{"id":186471,"date":"2017-07-19T14:17:37","date_gmt":"2017-07-19T12:17:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=186471"},"modified":"2017-07-19T14:17:37","modified_gmt":"2017-07-19T12:17:37","slug":"openserve-cuts-fibre-broadband-prices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/broadband\/186471\/openserve-cuts-fibre-broadband-prices\/","title":{"rendered":"Openserve cuts fibre broadband prices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Openserve has announced that it is reducing IP Connect (IPC) prices as well as giving a speed boost and new lower prices for its fibre broadband products.<\/p>\n<p>Changes on the fibre broadband access front entail both speed increases and price reductions that will be effected across the OFB portfolio of wholesale offerings, the company said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When pricing is adjusted down next month, the organisation\u2019s wholesale clients that purchase IPC capacity will pay 25% less than they do today,&#8221; said\u00a0Alphonzo Samuels, Openserve\u2019s CEO.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This latest cut on the cost of IPC follows the reductions announced in May this year that aimed to provide affordable fixed broadband to more South Africans.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur 2Mbps and 8Mbps offerings will be upgraded to 4Mbps and 10Mbps respectively. These migrations will occur free of charge.
