{"id":187837,"date":"2017-07-25T11:16:31","date_gmt":"2017-07-25T09:16:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=187837"},"modified":"2017-07-25T11:16:53","modified_gmt":"2017-07-25T09:16:53","slug":"jse-ups-global-markets-exposure-with-listing-of-satrix-global-etfs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/trending\/187837\/jse-ups-global-markets-exposure-with-listing-of-satrix-global-etfs\/","title":{"rendered":"JSE ups global markets exposure with listing of Satrix global ETFs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) has on Tuesday listed three new Satrix exchange traded funds (ETFs), offering investors greater exposure to global markets.<\/p>\n<p>The new ETFs will track the MSCI World index, MSCI Emerging Markets Investable Market Index and the S&amp;P 500.<\/p>\n<p>ETFs are investment products which track the value of a basket of shares or other assets like bonds and commodities.<\/p>\n<p>Helena Conradie, CEO of Satrix, said: \u201cOur investors can now access global equity markets on the JSE alongside their local ETF investments. We are always looking at ways in which we can expand our offering and these rand-denominated ETFs allow investors to access global markets with ease, and at a low cost.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Satrix MSCI World ETF will track the performance of the MSCI World Index, which represents large and mid-cap companies across 23 developed markets globally.<\/li>\n<li>The Satrix MSCI Emerging Markets ETF will track the performance of the MSCI Emerging Markets Investable Market Index (IMI), which represents large, mid and small cap companies across 24 emerging market countries.<\/li>\n<li>The Satrix S&amp;P 500 ETF will track the performance of the S&amp;P 500 Index, which is widely regarded as the best single gauge of large-cap equities in the United States.
