Telkom has announced a number of big changes to its fixed line offerings, including new deals, price decreases as well as free line upgrades.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a special fixed-line event on Tuesday, Telkom said over the next 30 days it would double the speed of some lower-end DSL plans and offer a number of \u00a0new \u201cUnlimited Home\u201d deals.<\/p>\n
Called Telkom Unlimited Home, the new packages include Telkom line rental \u2013 phone line and DSL \u2013 and up to 3GB of mobile data on the Telkom mobile network.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been listening to our customers very closely and working very hard to understand their needs,\u201d said Telkom Consumer CEO Attila Vitai.<\/p>\n
These new deals will include\u00a0unlimited on-network calls, and\u00a0“unlimited data”\u00a0with a high-bandwidth fair-usage policy of up to 6TB a month. Data downloaded between midnight and 07:00 every day does not count towards the fair usage policy.<\/p>\n
Existing Telkom uncapped clients, whether on Do bundles or otherwise,\u00a0will also automatically be upgraded to the new Unlimited Home plans at higher speeds, the company said.<\/p>\n
Customers on the current\u00a02Mbit\/s uncapped package can now expect\u00a04Mbit\/s, those on 4Mbit\/s can now expect 8Mbit\/s, and those on 8Mbit\/s can now expect 10Mbit\/s line speeds.<\/p>\n
The new deals are permanent and are not promotional, Vitai said.<\/p>\n
