Barbara Mallinson, Obami CEO<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a  data-lightbox=\"post-image\" href=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Barbara-Mallinson-Obami-CEO.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-191198\" src=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Barbara-Mallinson-Obami-CEO.jpg\" alt=\"Barbara Mallinson, Obami CEO\" width=\"640\" height=\"430\" srcset=\"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Barbara-Mallinson-Obami-CEO.jpg 640w, https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Barbara-Mallinson-Obami-CEO-300x202.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Barbara Mallinson is the founder and chief executive of Obami, a social learning platform being used by hundreds of schools across Africa, Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>She saw a gap in the SA market \u2013 schools were creating real-life networks, but they weren\u2019t making use of online tools to take that further.<\/p>\n<p>Obami was recognised as one of the Top 10 Most Innovative Technologies in the World in 2011 by Netexplo, Unesco and partners.<\/p>\n<p>It was also identified as one of the Top 20 Start-ups in Africa by Forbes a year later, and Mallinson was featured on the Forbes 10 Female Tech Founders to Watch in Africa list.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\"><strong> 2. PayU has a 40% market share in the South African online payments market and currently services more than 1 500 of SA\u2019s top merchants.<\/p>\n<p>Globally, PayU has a presence across 16 high-growth markets, offering over 250 payment options to over 2.3 billion users.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\"><strong> 3.
