WeChat has announced a new partnership with cooking start up UCook, which will allow South Africans to order take-home meals through the chat client.<\/p>\n

UCook, an e-food delivery service, allows users to make their own meals using recipes and ingredients shipped directly to them.<\/p>\n

While UCook has traditionally offered a subscription-based service the new partnership with UCook will, deliver boxes on a once-off basis.<\/p>\n

As a result, both companies expect to see a shared increase in customer growth, WeChat said in statement.<\/p>\n

All purchases are done through\u00a0WeChat’s wallet system which can be topped up at any time.<\/p>\n

The partnership follows an ongoing push by\u00a0WeChat to gain traction in the South African market by partnering with retail clients through its wallet system.<\/p>\n

The company already boasts relationships with Standard Bank, McDonalds South Africa, DStv and others.<\/p>\n
