Uber South Africa has launched UberASSIST in Johannesburg, a service designed to provide additional assistance for senior riders and riders with access needs.<\/p>\n

“Today, we\u2019re excited to announce the launch of UberASSIST in Johannesburg. UberASSIST has been designed to help senior and disabled riders who require additional assistance get around the city more conveniently,” the taxi app said.<\/p>\n

“Moving around your city should be quick and convenient for all. At Uber, we strive to create transportation options that give equal opportunities and access to everyone,” Uber said.<\/p>\n

The company said that driver-partners are specifically trained to assist riders when getting in and out of vehicles and can accommodate folding wheelchairs, walkers and service animals.<\/p>\n

The service is already available in Cape Town.<\/p>\n
