New data released by South African jobs portal,\u00a0Adzuna, shows that the average salary for a managing director in the country is nearing R1 million – coming closer to large paycheques seen other by top executives.<\/p>\n
Analysing over 130,000 unique online job listings in South Africa, Adzuna found an increasing trend towards a demand for technical skills in the country, while it noted an “interesting increase” in the variety of jobs that were heading to the\u00a0R1 million mark.<\/p>\n
Financial, digital and engineering positions claim most of the R1 million-plus spots, with directors of all types filling in the gaps. Managing Directors<\/strong>, specifically, are currently being offered R986,000 on average.<\/p>\n A report released by PwC in the past month highlighted the average salaries earned by the top executives at listed companies.<\/p>\n Executives at small and medium-sized companies<\/a><\/strong> are more in-line with Adzuna’s data, with PwC putting the figures for CEOs at between R1.3 million and R2.5 million, and for Executive Directors at between R1 million and R2.1 million.<\/p>\n At big companies<\/a><\/strong>, these averages increase to between R3.3 million and R7.9 million for CEOs and between R2.1 million and R4.4 million for Executive Directors.<\/p>\n
