Estimated electricity production fell by 2.3% year on year in June\u201a Statistics SA said on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The seasonally adjusted electricity production decreased by 2.4% for the second quarter of this year compared with the previous quarter.<\/p>\n
There was a month-on-month increase of 1.5% in electricity production in June\u201a following a month-on-month increase of 0.5% in May.<\/p>\n
Figures showed that the seasonally adjusted electricity consumption decreased by 2.5% for the second quarter of this year compared with the previous quarter.<\/p>\n
A month-on-month increase of 1.2% was recorded for June\u201a following a month-on-month increase of 0.2% in May.<\/p>\n
A year-on-year decrease of 3.1% in the actual volume of electricity consumption was recorded for June.<\/p>\n
The total volume of electricity delivered by Eskom to the provinces decreased by 2.8% in June compared with June last year.<\/p>\n
Decreases were reported in eight of the nine provinces\u201a with the largest volume decrease recorded for KwaZulu-Natal (-212 Gigawatt-hours)\u201a followed by Gauteng (-161 Gigawatt-hours) and Mpumalanga (-129 Gigawatthours).<\/p>\n
