{"id":19383,"date":"2012-08-03T09:24:50","date_gmt":"2012-08-03T07:24:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=19383"},"modified":"2012-08-03T09:28:48","modified_gmt":"2012-08-03T07:28:48","slug":"cabinet-approves-a-new-toll-bill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/government\/19383\/cabinet-approves-a-new-toll-bill\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabinet approves a new toll bill: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cabinet has approved a new bill that will allow government to take action in civil courts against people who dodge e-tolls, the Star newspaper reported on Friday (03 August).<\/p>\n<p>The Transport Laws and Related Matters Amendment bill was approved by Cabinet in anticipation of the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project, which has been halted.<\/p>\n<p>Toll evaders could face garnishment orders against their pay slips or attachment of their property if they refuse to pay fees or fines.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The bill has been necessitated by the development of the GFIP, as well as future plans for the development of road infrastructure,&#8221;
