In the past, Poynting Antennas have been used across Europe in the services industry, and have even seen its use in sports.<\/p>\n
In 2016, Poynting announced that its rapid growth in Europe has culminated in a strategic partnership with the German Olympic sailing team.<\/p>\n
The team had used Poynting\u2019s cutting-edge OMNI 291 marine and coastal antenna for its land-to-vessel communications during the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil later that year.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur partnership with the German Olympic team was a welcome confirmation of our market acceptance in the highly competitive European market,\u201d says Michael Howard, CEO of Poynting Antennas.<\/p>\n
Previously, the antennas have also been used to help air ambulances in Norway get access to real time information about weather conditions along their route allowing them to fast-track finding subjects and saving lives.<\/p>\n
It has also been used in the world’s longest and deepest train tunnel through the Swiss Alps to ensure a seamless digital communication service underground over a route length of more than 57km.<\/p>\n
Its range of cellular and specialised antennas has not only won it a significant market in Britain, but earned it a position as a technical partner of the Bloodhound Supersonic Car (Bloodhound SSC) team.<\/p>\n
After which, Poynting has designed a specialised high-gain antenna that will live-stream the 1,000mph world record attempt from inside the vehicle in 2017.<\/p>\n

The antennas allow for accurate and more specific information that wins you valuable minutes and allow you to choose the shortest path and make swift decisions in critical situations.<\/p>\n
It is specifically developed to operate in hazardous environments where performance and safety are necessary\u00a0 and therefore add an additional bonus of greater safety.<\/p>\n
According to Howard, the XPOL 2 v2 antenna is 4G \/LTE and 2G\/3G compatible and is also capable of operating over a wide frequency range that caters for the requirements of the many network operators in different countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany competitors have either-or scenarios, but not a versatile antenna that is as robust as ours,\u201d he claims.<\/p>\n
For its next phase of development, Poynting Antennas is focusing on specialised antennas for mobility \u2013 including cars, busses, and agricultural equipment \u2013 and expanding its range of intrinsically safe antennas for use in specialised applications.<\/p>\n
\u201cApart from our new product development, we will continue to advance our product offering in the machine-to-machine and fixed wireless (LTE) markets.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe demand for these products is growing and driving our focus to expand into new markets, including the North American market and the Middle East,\u201d says Howard.<\/p>\n
