{"id":195326,"date":"2017-08-30T07:41:48","date_gmt":"2017-08-30T05:41:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=195326"},"modified":"2017-08-30T07:42:12","modified_gmt":"2017-08-30T05:42:12","slug":"uber-confirms-dara-khosrowshahi-as-new-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/mobile\/195326\/uber-confirms-dara-khosrowshahi-as-new-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"Uber confirms Dara Khosrowshahi as new CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Uber said on Tuesday that its board has voted unanimously to appoint Dara Khosrowshahi to be the new CEO of the ride-sharing app.<\/p>\n<p>Uber noted that Khosrowshahi trained as an engineer at Brown, and spent many years at IAC serving as chief financial officer and in various operational and strategic roles.<\/p>\n<p>In 2005, he was appointed as CEO of Expedia, which now operates in more than 60 countries.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re really fortunate to gain a leader with Dara\u2019s experience, talent and vision.
