Acer Africa has announced that country manager, Graham Braum has decided to part ways with the company.<\/p>\n
Braum has left the company to focus and turn his attention to new career opportunities, Acer said.<\/p>\n
Current business unit managers, Damien Durrant and Chris Moseley will retain their positions and will continue to uphold the current business and momentum until the group appoints a new country manager.<\/p>\n
Braum joined Acer Africa in 1997 as the company\u2019s first corporate account manager, and subsequently developed his career with the group in a variety of roles, ranging from technical and sales, through to business development and general management.<\/p>\n
He helped to grow Acer Middle East from a small notebook base in 2003, to become a strong mobility player with over 25% market share, before returning to South Africa in 2007 to serve as Acer Africa\u2019s country manager.<\/p>\n
The hardware group currently has presence in over 20 countries in Africa, including East, West, Central and North Africa, addressing both consumer and professional segments; according to Braum, it employs over 85 people to look after the region’s operations.<\/p>\n
Analysts estimate Acer Group at approximately 18% market share for all products, and about 23% for mobility in the South African market.<\/p>\n
