Elan Lohmann, managing director at Digital Avusa Group, has resigned from the company to focus on his startup, Sleekgeek.<\/p>\n
Lohmann started Sleekgeek towards the end of 2011 after deciding to get into shape for a beach holiday. Since these humble beginnings \u2013 which involved 16 – 24 of his friends in the IT (Digital Media) industry \u2013 the initiative has burgeoned into a full time project.<\/p>\n
The latest Sleekgeek Summer Body challenge<\/strong><\/a>, which encourages participants to lose weight and get into shape, has a guaranteed prize fund of R80,000. Lohmann said that they already have over 200 registrations for their latest challenge, with the number growing daily.<\/p>\n Sleekgeek also has a dedicated Facebook page which is free to join<\/strong><\/a>, and provides support and inspiration for individuals keen to live a healthier life.<\/p>\n Time to move on<\/strong><\/p>\n Lohmann joined Avusa in August 2009 as the general manager of the company\u2019s Media Live division, and became MD at Digital Avusa Group in April 2011.<\/p>\n Lohmann is also a director at Map Integration Technologies and the chairman at Inet-Bridge and Interactive Junction Holdings.<\/p>\n Lohmann explained that the time was right for him to leave the corporate world and dedicate his efforts to the Sleekgeek project.
