{"id":203030,"date":"2017-10-05T09:23:22","date_gmt":"2017-10-05T07:23:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/?p=203030"},"modified":"2017-10-05T09:23:22","modified_gmt":"2017-10-05T07:23:22","slug":"wesbank-subsidiary-rentworks-acquired-by-dolbergpremium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businesstech.co.za\/news\/banking\/203030\/wesbank-subsidiary-rentworks-acquired-by-dolbergpremium\/","title":{"rendered":"WesBank subsidiary RentWorks acquired by D\u00f6lbergPremium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RentWorks, South Africa&#8217;s largest independent asset rental company, has been acquired by D\u00f6lbergPremium for an undisclosed amount.<\/p>\n<p>The deal is subject to regulatory approval by the Competition Commission of South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>A subsidiary of WesBank, RentWorks currently funds over R3 billion worth of assets for more than 400 organisations across most industries and asset types.<\/p>\n<p>The current management team and all employees of RentWorks will remain on-board following the acquisition, RentWorks said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reason behind this acquisition is alignment to the worldwide trends in regulatory frameworks, which are more and more inclined towards the separation of banking and non-banking activities in the financial services industry,\u201d said CEO of RentWorks, Kuben Rayan.<\/p>\n<p>RentWorks currently has operations across South Africa and Namibia.
