Petroleum and oil group, Sasol, has been listed among the top 100 highest regarded companies in the world, according to Forbes.<\/p>\n

In a new ranking based on the top 2000 companies in the world, Forbes has isolated the 250 global companies that are held in the highest regard.<\/p>\n

According to Forbes, ‘high regard’ most translates to a company’s level of trustworthiness, and a group needs to make an impact with a large number of professionals to crack a nod in its list.<\/p>\n

While ultimately based on sentiment, Forbes said that it based its ranking on companies identified in a Statista survey that drew responses from over 15,000 professionals from 60 countries.<\/p>\n

The companies were then evaluated based on trustworthiness\/honesty, social conduct, the company as an employer and the performance of the company\u2019s product or service.<\/p>\n

Sasol was the only South African company listed, even though the top 2000 companies list features nine others. It was ranked 93rd, overall – and is the only African company to make the top 250 list.<\/p>\n

Sasol is the third biggest company in South Africa, according to Forbes’ measure of sales, profits, assets and market value, below FirstRand and Standard Bank.<\/p>\n

The group employs over 30,900 people and has operations in 30 countries.<\/p>\n
